'Mendieta'
A tribute to performance artist, Ana Mendieta whose embodiment has inspired me spiritually and artistically.
Casting my feet in plaster serves as a symbolic representation of Mendieta's own. Positioning these grounded feet atop a mound of soil echoes her connection to the Earth, drawing inspiration from her Silueta series.
This work commemorates Mendieta's legacy while fostering awareness of the violence in which her death occurred.
